Tesla Opens Moncton Supercharger: 8 V4 Stalls, 325kW, Time-Based Pricing

Tesla has officially opened its newest Supercharger station in the Maritimes: eight V4 charging stalls in Moncton, New Brunswick, located at 50 Granite Drive at the Granite Centre, just off the Trans-Canada Highway. The site becomes Tesla's seventh Supercharger location in the province.

According to Tesla's website, the Moncton station features V4 Supercharger posts capable of delivering up to 325kW to compatible EVs. The site is also open to compatible non-Tesla EVs using a NACS adapter — part of the network's ongoing expansion beyond Tesla drivers.

The pricing quirk: per-minute, not per-kWh

Unlike Superchargers in the rest of Canada, which bill by the kilowatt-hour, the Moncton station uses time-based pricing. The reason is regulatory: New Brunswick's utility rules only allow utility companies to resell electricity by volume, forcing Tesla into the per-minute model the network used Canada-wide before switching to kWh billing.

For Tesla owners, rates range from $0.35 per minute when charging between 0–60kW up to $1.85 per minute above 180kW. Non-Tesla EVs pay more — $0.50 to $2.60 per minute across the same bands. The practical takeaway for drivers: per-minute pricing rewards vehicles that sustain high charging speeds, and the V4 posts' 325kW ceiling makes speed-tier awareness worth more in New Brunswick than almost anywhere else in Canada.

Where it fits on the map

Moncton joins existing New Brunswick Tesla stations in Aulac, Lincoln, Quispamsis, Saint-Léonard, Salisbury and Woodstock — anchoring the TCH corridor that connects Nova Scotia to Quebec. Construction on the site began last year.

The opening also lands the same week Tesla named three new Canadian Supercharger Voting winners (Crowsnest Pass, Tobermory, Mont-Laurier) and put 84 more Canadian locations up for vote — the network's Canadian expansion is visibly accelerating.

For non-Tesla drivers

Moncton's V4 stalls work with NACS-adapter-equipped vehicles from most major manufacturers, and the site's opening continues the pattern of new Canadian stations launching non-Tesla-compatible from day one.
