teslaPorsche adds Plug & Charge access to Tesla Superchargers in Canada
Porsche EV owners in Canada can now use Plug & Charge at Tesla Superchargers for automatic authentication and billing on Macan Electric and 2026 Taycan.
Porsche has enabled Plug & Charge functionality for Tesla Supercharger access in Canada, allowing select Porsche electric vehicles to automatically authenticate and pay when connecting to Superchargers across North America.
Announced October 19, the feature works through the Porsche Charging Service. Owners of the Macan Electric and model year 2026 Taycan can now access more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers with Plug & Charge. Once enabled, the vehicle authenticates and processes billing the moment the charging cable is connected, removing the need for apps, cards or manual activation.
What Plug & Charge changes for Canadian drivers
Canadian drivers previously needed to use the Tesla app or a charging card to start sessions at Superchargers. With Plug & Charge enabled via Porsche’s service, charging sessions begin automatically as long as the driver is an active member of the Porsche Charging Service.
Trevor Arthur, President and CEO of Porsche Cars Canada, said: “Increasing Plug & Charge access makes charging simpler and more user-friendly, moving us closer to a seamless electric vehicle experience.”
Vehicles and future coverage
The rollout covers Macan Electric and 2026 Taycan today. Porsche confirmed the upcoming Cayenne Electric, expected to launch in Canada later this year, will also support Plug & Charge on the Tesla network when it arrives.
Porsche has also expanded its charging ecosystem over the past year, with Plug & Charge already supported at Electrify Canada locations and OTA software updates ensuring compatibility across compatible models.
