Lincoln Recalls 2,292 Navigators in Canada Over Power Seats That May Move On Their Own
Lincoln is recalling 2,292 2025–2027 Navigators in Canada after a rear audio control module fault can make the front passenger power seat move on its own — even into an obstruction. Transport Canada campaign 2026-510.
Lincoln is recalling 2,292 Lincoln Navigators in Canada (model years 2025 through 2027) over a software fault that can make the front passenger power seat move on its own and not stop — even if cargo or a passenger is in its path. Transport Canada warns the seat could keep moving into an obstruction, posing a crush hazard, and that reclining seat-backs could trap passengers in the second row depending on how they're seated.
What the defect does
According to Transport Canada, "a problem with the rear audio control module (RACM) could cause the front passenger seat to unexpectedly move forward or backward, or tilt and recline on its own." The control module that should stop a power seat when it detects an obstruction can fail, so the seat continues its motion regardless of what's in the way.
What the fix involves
- Vehicles: 2,292 Lincoln Navigators, model years 2025–2027, in Canada
- Defect: rear audio control module (RACM) fault causing the front passenger seat to move uncommanded and not stop on obstruction
- Remedy: dealer update to the RACM and accessory protocol image module (APIM) software, plus disabling the chauffeur-mode function — free of charge
- Campaign: Transport Canada 2026-510 (internal code 26S77)
Owners should bring the Navigator to the nearest Ford or Lincoln dealer for the software update.
A growing pattern in power-seat recalls
This is the latest in a string of power-seat recalls across the industry. Ford recalled thousands of Explorers and Lincoln Aviators in the U.S. this past July over front seats that began reclining on their own and trapping second-row passengers. Two days before this campaign, Lincoln recalled hybrid Nautilus and Corsair models in Canada over an unrelated issue with them suddenly shifting into neutral. Hyundai and Kia also recalled several models after a two-year-old child was crushed and killed by a power seat in a Hyundai Palisade in March 2026, and Cadillac recalled its Vistiq over power third-row seats that could fail to stop.
For Canadian Navigator owners, the practical takeaway is simple: if you get a notification, book the dealer visit promptly. The fix is a software update, but until it's applied, the front passenger seat is the one you should treat as untrusted — especially with children or cargo behind it.
