rangeFord Confirms Fathom Price Range: $28,350 to High $30Ks on Q3 Earnings Call
Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed on the Q3 2026 earnings call that the Fathom electric pickup will range from $28,350 to the high $30,000s, with BlueCruise standard on every model and a claim that five-year ownership costs beat a three-year-old used Model Y.
On Ford's third-quarter 2026 earnings call, CEO Jim Farley confirmed the Fathom electric pickup will price from $28,350 USD (roughly C$38,700 after the federal EVAP incentive) for the standard-range model, with higher trims extending into the high $30,000s. Even with the $1,595 delivery fee, the base truck stays under $30,000 USD. Farley called the Fathom a "breakthrough product" that is "highly capable and affordable."
What Farley said on the call
Farley, who test-drove a prototype the day before the earnings call, told investors the Fathom "completely blew me away." He singled out the 0-to-60 acceleration, interior space, and the hands-free ADAS experience, comparing it to "something I've never experienced."
Andrew Frick, president of Ford Model e, added that the $28,350 starting price is "just that" — the floor. "We'll have a range that goes to the high $30,000 range. And we'll have a couple of different offerings within that," Frick said, without detailing the specific trims. Ford says more trim information will come closer to launch.
Key specs and features confirmed
- Platform: First vehicle on Ford's Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform, using zonal electrical architecture and a 48-volt system to cut costs.
- Driver assist: Every Fathom model is BlueCruise-capable for hands-free highway driving. Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Navigation: Embedded Apple Maps, which Farley called a "game changer" for an EV starting under $30,000 and the "most exciting upsell opportunity" for the long-term digital subscription experience.
- Interior space: Ford claims more passenger room than a Toyota RAV4, not counting the frunk or truck bed.
- Charging: NACS port confirmed (a prototype was photographed at a Tesla Supercharger). Bidirectional charging for home backup power.
- Ownership cost: Ford says the Fathom will cost less to own over five years than a three-year-old used Tesla Model Y.
What this means for Canadian buyers
Canadian pricing was previously announced at C$38,690 after the $4,000 EVAP incentive (C$39,995 base MSRP). The US sub-$30,000 starting price and the emphasis on value positioning suggest Ford is targeting the same budget-conscious Canadian EV buyers who were priced out of the F-150 Lightning. Pre-orders open in early 2027, with production at the converted Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky. Launch is on track for Q4 2027.
