11 EVs Under $41,000 in Canada This September — Fiat 500e Drops to $29,865 After Rebate

Electric vehicle affordability in Canada keeps improving, and September 2026 is one of the strongest months yet for discount shoppers. As tracked by Canadian EV pricing site emptytank.ca, eleven electric models from Chevrolet, Fiat, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Toyota and VinFast land below $41,000 this month once manufacturer discounts and the federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) rebate are stacked together — all prices before tax.

The math matters here. The EVAP rebate pays up to $5,000 after tax, which works out to a before-tax discount of $4,425 in provinces with a 13 per cent sales rate. The figures below use emptytank's Ontario-based calculation, with base-model MSRPs plus estimated fees and levies; your final price varies by province and dealer.

The headline deal: Fiat 500e at $29,865

Fiat Canada is taking $8,000 off what was already one of the country's cheapest EVs. The little 500e carries an MSRP of $39,995 and a regular starting price of $42,290 with fees — the September discount drops that to $34,290, and the EVAP rebate brings the effective price to $29,865. The trade-off is size and range: it's a four-seater rated at roughly 227 kilometres per charge, best suited to city duty.

Every model under $41,000 this month

Two models on the list need no discount at all. The newly launched Kia EV3 carries the lowest MSRP of any EV in the country at $36,995, undercutting its Kia EV4 sibling by two grand; the base 58.3-kWh pack delivers 356 kilometres of range, and $4,000 more buys the 81.4-kWh battery good for 517 kilometres on front-wheel-drive trims. The Subaru Uncharted, a mechanical twin of the Toyota C-HR, covers 399 kilometres in base front-wheel-drive form and up to 480 kilometres in long-range trim, with all-wheel-drive versions packing 338 horsepower.

• Lowest absolute price: Fiat 500e at $29,865 with EVAP — if 227 km of city range fits your life
• Most range per dollar: Chevrolet Equinox EV at $39,218 with 513 kilometres, or the Bolt at $34,818 with 410 kilometres and a native NACS charging port
• Biggest sticker cut: VinFast VF 8 with $14,000 off the 2025 Eco — 349 hp and 412 kilometres at $38,310 cash with EVAP
• No-discount value: Kia EV3 and EV4, the two lowest MSRPs in Canada

One timing note worth repeating: the EVAP rebate is at its maximum $5,000 level for 2026 only, stepping down to $4,000 in 2027 and lower after that — the discount stacking that produces these sub-$41,000 prices gets materially harder next year. Some offers are also regional, so confirm availability with the automaker's configurator or your local dealer before counting on a specific number.
