Ford Recalls 6,935 F-150 and Super Duty Trucks in Canada Over Faulty Gauge Cluster
Transport Canada recall 2026-480 covers 2025-2026 F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 trucks. Analog speedometer or tachometer may stick, jump, or show wrong speed. Remedy: full gauge cluster replacement, free of charge. 102,159 more trucks affected in the U.S.
Ford is recalling 6,935 pickup trucks in Canada — and another 102,159 in the U.S. — because the analog speedometer or tachometer may display an incorrect reading. The recall, filed under Transport Canada number 2026-480 (manufacturer recall 26C46), covers the following Canadian-market vehicles:
- 2026 Ford F-150 (XL and STX)
- 2025–2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty
- 2025–2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty
- 2025–2026 Ford F-450 Super Duty
- 2025–2026 Ford F-550 Super Duty
- 2025–2026 Ford F-600
What's wrong
According to recall documents filed with NHTSA, the speedometer or tachometer needles may stick and become inoperable, jump around erratically, or provide false readings. In trucks equipped with a secondary digital speed display, the analog and digital gauges may show two different speeds simultaneously. An incorrect speed reading can cause the driver to go too fast or too slow, increasing crash risk.
The fix
Owners will be notified by mail and advised to take the vehicle to a Ford dealership for inspection. If required, the entire gauge cluster will be replaced, free of charge. Because the affected gauges are analog (not a digital display cluster), a software update — over-the-air or otherwise — cannot resolve the issue.
Canadian owners can check whether their VIN is affected at Transport Canada's recall database (search recall 2026-480). This is the largest Ford truck recall in Canada this year, and it affects both the F-150 and the Super Duty line — the two trucks that dominate Canadian fleet and work-truck segments.
