Tesla Building Previously Unannounced Supercharger in Montcerf-Lytton, Northern Quebec

Tesla is quietly pushing its Supercharger network into a relatively underserved part of Quebec, with a previously unannounced charging station now under construction in Montcerf-Lytton, north of Mont-Laurier. Drive Tesla Canada reported the find on September 24, 2026, after a member of a Tesla Ottawa Facebook group spotted the work in progress.

What is being built

According to photos shared by reader Jacquelin Delage, construction is already well underway at an Ultramar gas station located at 2 Route 117 in Montcerf-Lytton. Based on the site layout, the station appears set to feature 8 V4 Supercharger posts.

What makes the find unusual: the location has never appeared on Tesla's official Find Us map — not as a proposed "in development" location and not as "under construction." The Montcerf-Lytton station is a previously unknown addition to Tesla's Canadian Supercharging network.

Why Route 117 matters

• Highway corridor: The site sits along Route 117, a major highway connecting southern Quebec with communities farther north, including Val-d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda.
• Charging gap: While Tesla has steadily expanded across Quebec, drivers heading north beyond Mont-Laurier have had relatively few fast-charging options compared with the province's more heavily populated corridors.
• Next steps north: Another Supercharger was previously planned farther north in La Vallée-de-l'Or, east of Val-d'Or, but that site is still listed as "in development."

The bigger Quebec picture

Quebec has been one of Tesla's most active Canadian build markets in 2026. The Drummondville Supercharger opened in late August — the fourth new station in the province this year — following earlier 2026 openings in Laval, Quebec City and Sherbrooke. Tesla also named Mont-Laurier a winner in its recent Supercharger Voting round, and the current candidate slate lists 18 Quebec sites, including two in Val-d'Or.

The Montcerf-Lytton station will help address the northern gap, providing another charging option for Tesla owners travelling through the Outaouais and Abitibi regions. No opening date has been announced, but with construction visibly underway, an activation in late 2026 appears plausible based on Tesla's typical build timelines.
