Tesla Opens Prince Rupert Supercharger, Completing Northern BC Highway 16 Corridor

Tesla’s Supercharger build on Highway 16 reached the Pacific coast on September 23, 2026, with the activation of a four-stall V4 site in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The station sits at Atlin Terminal, 215 Cow Bay Road, and marks the third northern BC opening in three days after Vanderhoof on September 21 and Terrace on September 22.

Prince Rupert details

The Prince Rupert site features four V4 stalls capable of up to 325 kW. Tesla owners pay $0.24/kWh and non-Tesla drivers pay $0.32/kWh. The location provides a critical stop for traffic arriving from the ferry terminal and for vehicles heading south on Highway 16.

Together with Vanderhoof and Terrace, the three openings add 16 new stalls along Highway 16. The corridor now supports reliable electric travel between Prince George and the coast, with spacing of 100–185 km between sites.

What remains

A gap remains between Vanderhoof and Terrace where additional sites at Burns Lake and Smithers are still pending. Tesla has previously indicated interest in these locations, and the company’s recent rapid northern build suggests further activations are likely.
