Tesla Opens Second Supercharger in Penticton, BC
Tesla has energized an eight-stall V4 Supercharger at Skaha Lake Road in Penticton, doubling local fast-charging capacity and tightening the Okanagan corridor.
Tesla has opened its second Supercharger station in Penticton, British Columbia, with eight V4 posts now live at Skaha Lake Road. The site adds 325 kW-capable stalls to a city that already hosts a Supercharger on Main Street, giving drivers two separate high-speed options on opposite sides of town.
What’s at the new site
The station sits at the commercial strip on Skaha Lake Road, near the Penticton airport and the south end of Skaha Lake. Drive Tesla Canada reports eight V4 posts are online, each supporting up to 250 kW for non-Tesla vehicles with a NACS adapter and up to 325 kW for Tesla vehicles under ideal conditions.
Like most recent Canadian Superchargers, the new Penticton location uses Tesla’s standardized placement, signage and software controls. Tesla owners see variable pricing throughout the day and non-Tesla drivers access the stalls via the Tesla app after the NACS adapter rollout.
Why it matters for the Okanagan
Penticton is a key hub on the Highway 97 corridor between Kelowna and Oliver, and a gateway to the south Okanagan wine country and the Kootenays. The city also serves as a stopover for trips to the US border crossing at Osoyoos.
With Sicamous energized in August and Keremeos reportedly close to opening, Tesla is filling the northern Okanagan-Similkameen gap that previously forced drivers to route through Vernon or Kelowna for reliable fast charging. The second Penticton site reduces queuing risk on summer weekends when tourism traffic spikes.
