Lucid Air UX 3.0 Rolls Out: Major Interface Overhaul, But Older Cars Need US$950 Hardware Upgrade
Lucid's biggest infotainment update yet brings the Air in line with the Gravity SUV, but 2022–2024 model year owners must pay US$950 for a processor upgrade to get it. Canadian pricing not yet announced.
Lucid has begun rolling out Air UX 3.0, the most significant software update yet for its flagship sedan. The update, part of Software Version 2.11.0, brings the Air's interface in line with the newer Lucid Gravity SUV — but there's a catch for early adopters.
Who gets it free, who pays
- 2025 and newer Air vehicles: Free over-the-air (OTA) update
- 2022, 2023, and some 2024 Air vehicles: Require an upgraded infotainment processor priced at US$950
Canadian pricing for the processor upgrade has not been announced. Lucid says owners of older Air vehicles can contact Customer Care to determine eligibility.
What changes in UX 3.0
Redesigned Home interface
The Home screen now uses swipeable cards for media, vehicle controls, calls, saved destinations, and nearby charging stations. New Quick Controls are accessible by swiping down from the top of the Pilot Panel.
Enhanced route planning
Navigation gains meaningful flexibility: drivers can specify preferred charging networks, account for adapter compatibility, and set a minimum remaining range target upon arrival.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto go full-width
Both platforms can now expand across the entire right side of the Air's Cockpit Display — considerably more screen real estate than before. Lucid says wireless and wired connections are both supported, with improved reliability and performance.
Profile switching and security
Faster profile switching, tighter controls around linked keys and Guest profiles, and new six-digit PIN authentication round out the update.
Why it matters for Canadian owners
Lucid's Canadian presence is growing, with the Gravity SUV now available for order and Air deliveries ongoing. For early Air buyers in Canada, the US$950 processor upgrade (plus potential import duties, labour, and taxes) represents a meaningful cost to access the latest software experience. The company has not confirmed whether Canadian pricing will mirror the U.S. figure or be adjusted for currency and market.
